With only one practice under their belt, the Plover 15 Year Old Nationals took 1st Place in the Wausau East/Breakfast Optimist Youth Baseball Tournament last tournament.  The Nationals won all 4 of their games this weekend.  The winning started on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over a good Hallie Heat team in the first game.  Then faced Neekoosa in the second game and won 11-1 in that matchup.  To end the day, the Nationals had a hard fought battle with Wausau West and came out on top with a very exciting 4-3 victory.  After a long day Saturday and a rainy Sunday morning, they played in the Championship against Marshfield.  The Nationals scored early and never looked back as they won 5-0 to take home the hardware.  It was a total team effort all weekend long with some dominant pitching, timely hitting, heady base running and sound defense.
